   I don't have an answering machine so that I can't answer. It's a more modern ring unfortunately. I wish it was more old timey. I love the look except for the big Chinese symbol in the middle. I bought it for more of a decoration than anything. I don't think it was worth the hundred dollars I spent on it. If you want my honest opinion, keep looking around. The ear and mouth pieces are plastic and cheap quality
